The V and A has a dedicated Glass Gallery (room 131) which displays all
kinds of glass through the ages, and includes a large amount of pressed glass. There is also a glass staircase and a huge glass sculpture.

This centre, though interesting, is devoted to modern glass, with workshops as well as displays. The building is very unattractive, but the restaurant is good.

This is the place to go in Sunderland to see pressed glass - the museum has several display-cases full. The rest of the museum is worth a look, as is the Winter Garden (tropical plant house) next door.

Pilkington's is a large industrial glass manufacturer in Lancashire, and the museum has exhibitions about the history and development of glassmaking. There are also permanent and temporary exibitions of glassware.
